Donald Trump Has Made More Statements Escalating Tensions Against Iran – “One Night Is Enough for the Whole Country”

US President Donald Trump’s harsh statements regarding the ongoing war with Iran have increased anxiety in global markets.

Trump, pointing to midnight on Tuesday, said that large-scale attacks on bridges and energy infrastructure in Iran were on the agenda. The US leader suggested that a potential operation could take place within a mere four-hour timeframe, stating, “All the bridges in Iran will be destroyed, all the power plants will be disabled.”

While Trump stated that military options against Iran were on the table, he indicated he did not want to target infrastructure, saying, “I hope I don’t have to carry out such an attack.” Nevertheless, his statement that “If necessary, the entire country could be neutralized overnight” drew attention. The US President also defended the ongoing negotiations with Iran as being “in good faith,” stating that the proposals presented were an important step but not sufficient. Trump reiterated that the deadline given to Iran would not be extended and that Tuesday was the final deadline.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that military preparations were accelerating, adding that the most intense attacks against Iran would take place today and would intensify further the following day. Meanwhile, according to reports citing US officials, the American military is continuing its preparations, particularly for operations that could target Iran’s energy infrastructure.

Another development came from Iran. Iranian state television announced that a missile had been launched towards Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly urged Trump to oppose the ceasefire during their meeting on Sunday.

Trump, arguing that Iran possessing nuclear weapons would be “the real war crime,” also stated that he was not worried about the war crime accusations leveled against him.

Touching on public opinion in the US regarding the war, Trump acknowledged that Americans want the country to return home, while criticizing Iran’s current stance and saying, “They don’t want to back down right now, but they will.”
