President Donald Trump fired Attorney General Pam Bondi during a limo ride to the Supreme Court on Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Bondi announced her departure from the administration in a Truth Social post on Thursday, making her the second Cabinet member to do so in recent weeks. Bondi has faced intense criticism over her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, and Trump had become displeased with her effort to blunt the impact of the files on his administration, according to the report.

"During the drive, Trump told her, 'I think it’s time,' she would later tell an associate," the report reads in part.
"The ensuing hours were as awkward and chaotic as Bondi’s 14-month tenure as the nation’s top law-enforcement official," it added. "Trump and Bondi briefly sat near each other during the Supreme Court hearing on birthright citizenship, but the president soon switched chairs. Later, Bondi would ask Trump if she could keep her job until the summer. The president declined."
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche has assumed the role of interim Attorney General, and Trump is "interested" in evaluating his performance, according to the report.
On Thursday, Blanche told Fox News that the Department of Justice has no more Epstein files to release, even though Bondi previously said the agency is still combing through "millions" of documents.
