American Heart Association Outlines Four Key Actions for Women’s Heart Health on National Wear Red Day 2026

2 min read

Nearly half of women in the United States have some form of cardiovascular disease, a figure expected to grow, making it the number one killer of women. To combat this, the American Heart Association, through its Go Red for Women movement sponsored by CVS Health, is urging action during American Heart Month with four specific steps centered on National Wear Red Day on February 6, 2026.

The first action is to wear red on February 6 and use social media hashtags like #WearRedDay to spread awareness. Tools and resources are available at WearRedDay.org, and the iconic Red Dress pin can be purchased at ShopHeart.org.

Second, women are encouraged to know their key health numbers: total cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar, and body mass index. Managing these with a healthcare provider can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke.

The third step addresses a critical gap in medical research. Cardiovascular disease claims more women’s lives annually than all cancers combined, yet most clinical studies lack women-specific data. The Association’s Research Goes Red initiative calls on women to contribute to health research through surveys and studies to improve disease management.

Finally, the movement celebrates survivors championing women’s health. Twelve women representing Go Red for Women in 2026 will share their personal stories of heart disease and stroke at goredforwomen.org/survivors to raise awareness about risks and resources. ‘National Wear Red Day is a powerful reminder that when we come together, we can change the future of women’s health,’ said Dr. Stacey E. Rosen, volunteer president of the American Heart Association. The initiative aims to ensure every woman has the knowledge and support for a healthier life, with comprehensive resources available at GoRedforWomen.org.

UK Looks to US to Adopt More Crypto-Friendly Approach

The post UK Looks to US to Adopt More Crypto-Friendly Approach appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. The UK and US are reportedly preparing to deepen cooperation on digital assets, with Britain looking to copy the Trump administration’s crypto-friendly stance in a bid to boost innovation.  UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent discussed on Tuesday how the two nations could strengthen their coordination on crypto, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.  The discussions also involved representatives from crypto companies, including Coinbase, Circle Internet Group and Ripple, with executives from the Bank of America, Barclays and Citi also attending, according to the report. The agreement was made “last-minute” after crypto advocacy groups urged the UK government on Thursday to adopt a more open stance toward the industry, claiming its cautious approach to the sector has left the country lagging in innovation and policy.  Source: Rachel Reeves Deal to include stablecoins, look to unlock adoption Any deal between the countries is likely to include stablecoins, the Financial Times reported, an area of crypto that US President Donald Trump made a policy priority and in which his family has significant business interests. The Financial Times reported on Monday that UK crypto advocacy groups also slammed the Bank of England’s proposal to limit individual stablecoin holdings to between 10,000 British pounds ($13,650) and 20,000 pounds ($27,300), claiming it would be difficult and expensive to implement. UK banks appear to have slowed adoption too, with around 40% of 2,000 recently surveyed crypto investors saying that their banks had either blocked or delayed a payment to a crypto provider.  Many of these actions have been linked to concerns over volatility, fraud and scams. The UK has made some progress on crypto regulation recently, proposing a framework in May that would see crypto exchanges, dealers, and agents treated similarly to traditional finance firms, with…
